Well let's see....

-Global warming isn't real
-the ozone layer is fine
-threat of terrorism sucks... worse in Britain for demographic reasons
-gun crime sucks when you live in Britain and can't own a gun yourself to defend yourself.
-i won't be going to the congo anytime soon
-Aids is purely preventable if you don't want to
-religious hatred sucks
....

Many of the things you list are a result of Socialism. State run railways, the rights of prisoners and "society" rather than the individual. Terrorists love appeasers. Criminals like unarmed defendants.

Ah, it has its problems but the world is a better place when you live in the USA.

No you can always over eat , there is always the world of gourmet food to slavishly devote your hours over, or work out at the gym on the treadmill with your eyes shut and hands holding the sensors so as to forget the world but get your pulse rate down to a healthy level thereafter too. The fact that this world gives you a chance to forget it all means the world isn't such a bad place.

No! It is not a bad place to live. One thing though we need to make our voice be heard that we want a better, cleaner and safer, place to live.
They say to write your congressman, but that does not help much.
I guess there are just too many sheep, and I know I am one of them, following the leader.
I need to change my direction and see what I can do to make a difference.

If you are asking the question, then I think you already know the answer - the world is, all in all, a pretty good place, but us humans have to start respecting it and treating it better.

No. In life, things will always happen and wouldn't it be boring if nothing happened. Then the newspaper stories would have to all invented!
