I accidently hid a whole bunch of files that were on my desktop and now i don't know how to get them back. does anyone know where to go or what to do to get them back?

include hidden files in the search

From Windows explorer

1) Click on the Tools menu item
2) Click on Folder Options
3) Select the View tab
4) Click on Show Hidden Files and folders


You will need to navigate to your desktop folder navigating from your C: drive before you can change the view. Path s/b C:\Documents and Settings\Your User ID\Desktop

try using the search feature, click start then search, type in the file name of one of the hidden files.

you can also try highlighting and right click on properties of the folder where you think the hidden files are unclick the hidden.

sometimes you can't see the icons because you changed your display settings so the icons are off the screen.

go to tools on the menu bar then to folder options
there u will find the view tab
where u can select the "show hidden files " to get the documents listed back to ur folder

Open windows explorer, go to tools>Folder Options...> View> select Show hidden files and folders> click apply

From start menu go to Search --> Files and Folders and type in name of one file. Are they all in the same place?
