Most of the time engineers design over see manufacturing and perfecting most things we use in our daily lives.An engineer is respected for their vast array of knowledge of things best qualified to build a quality piece of usable equipment.Medical personell are revered for the education they have of human anatomy and the ability to correct(heal)abnormalities that cause human ailments.Both engineers and Doctors have extensive knowledge in their chosen fields.I guess we would differentiate respect for one over the other is ones personal preference

Both are respectable. I would say medical doctor is probably more respected. Just look at all the shows on tv about it. There aren't any about engineers. Also, if you ask little kids about what they want to be when they grow up many will say doctor or lawyer but few say engineer.

Your additional details about engineers doing all that MRI and computer developing are true. Grey's Anatomy, House, ER and all the Doctors of the day time soaps. Gee, no engineer shows. You may have an image problem, my young engineer.

It's just a matter of ethics and the person holding that degree. You could be an infamous medical doctor associated with criminal activities interested only in material wealth or a dedicated one that offers his/her services to the ones most in need.

You could also be a brilliant respected Engineer whose contributions to humankind improvement are noted in history or you could be a greedy, selfish, self centered Engineer risking the life of millions of people by purposely lowering construction standards.

Both are respectable, just Engineers are more respectable. You can better relate to Engineers as they seem to understand peoples all-around feelings and needs. Also, in terms of Education, an Engineer has plenty of education.

Well depends on collage education,,..........um i think that medical doctor is a good choice because you get paid more and get to save lives, now isn't that better than being an engineer but .... hey it's your choice.
