I think a phone call would probally keep you in better standings with this person.

no its not proper to send email to cancel a date...what if she doesnt hev time to open it before your date then shell wait for no one without her knowing...everybody has a phone already why not call her instead.

I don't see any problem with it, if e-mail is a familiar form of communication for both of the people involved. But if you didn't know for sure that they'd check their e-mail, it would be better to call.

Nope--that would be seen as pretty cowardly. Also, what if they don't check their e-mail? At the very least, make a phone call.
