n your opinion why does it appear that American Christianity has become the love child of Capitalism, individualism and greed. I have purused the ghettos of Christian television and have become appalled at the heresy.

Prosperity Preachers like Creflo Dollar, Jamal Bryant, Keneth Hagin, Oral Roberts and Fred Price and etc depict God as a grand slot machine; If you tithe to the church GOD will bless you with a Benz, Bentley, new house, car and more bling bling.

It seems that the thesis of there message is that to have those things are a sign of divine blessings and favor. DOES THIS POP-CULTURAL MESS BOTHER ANYONE BUT ME??????

Does it even bother anyone that these beautiful celebraty preachers who dress like characters on soap operas are not even smart and do not have earned accredidated degrees? Can't congregants make a case to sue them for spiritual malpractice? I think the gospel that they preach is the equavelant of spiritual homocide. (murdering the spiritually weak)

Sad commentary on our culture.
Just like all those Hollywood gossip rags on the stands,
unfortunately it's what most people want to hear.
Distortion of the true gospel Word is nothing new.
The true Christian reality is not a religion, it's a person
Jesus Christ.
I pray you'll find your Way through this mess.
God bless :-)

I think if you have any intelligence at all you will be able to tell the differece between a real man of God, and some jackass who is preaching just to get your money. Everyone has to use their common sense. I am afraid some people just don't have any. If they are stupid, and they believe anything anyone tells them then they deserve to loose their money.

your right, Christianity in America has turned in to greed type thing, and it is wrong for Christians to act in such a manor, but there are the few Christians out there that would rather be killed for teaching about God, instead of taking money from people and not even thinking about God any day of the week but Sunday.....

I'm agnostic and it makes me sick. I was brought up to believe that actions, not money define who you are. I try to treat others as I would like to be treated and think that the whole world is so stuck on More Money, More Money, More Money to the point that human life and quality of life is now disposable. If there is a Christ, he is surely weeping at all the horrible things being done in his name.
