I haven't done much ballet, and i really want to buy some pointe shoes. If i go into bloch will they ask me lots of questions to do with ballet?

Yeah of course you can. However, it's dangerous if you actually wear them and dance in them without experience and a teacher to help you. You need to learn the basics first otherwise you could roll or twist your ankle, which isn't a nice experience. As for buying pointe shoes, go for it - but make sure you have an experienced dancer to help you. Good Luck :) Pointe is really fun and awesome when you get it right.

Technically, you can physically buy them, but I wouldn't recommend it. Get an OK from your teacher first. You could really really hurt yourself if you're not strong enough. You could break your foot, just because it was too weak and collapsed on itself. I haven't done much ballet either and REALLY want pointe shoes, but I'm waiting for my teacher to say it's alright. Even though it's super hard to keep going in and not messing with them.... I did though, and I almost broke my foot. I thought it was really strong, but apparently not. Luckily I just got the worst foot cramp ever and was in pain for like a week. But still. Don't mess around with them until your teacher says it's OK.

you can buy shoes, by all means.. be my guest, theres nothing wrong with that. but please do not try to teach your self to wear them. you have not been trained in ballet. you CANNOT teach yourself to do pointe. its dangerous, and not smart. this is for your own good that you know this. it will ruin your feet. and before you go up on pointe you have to lear the right technique and take at leats 2 years of a pre-pointe class. your not ready. look into good pointe studios first and decide wheather you REALLY want this... yuo might want it now but are you ready for the work invelved? are you doing it long-time or short? do you really want this forever? or just a few years, cuz if you dont... its not really worth 2 years. or however long you want. you have to consider alot of things before you just go out and buy pointe shoes. you just have to otherwise your not going to be the best you can be and your going to hurt yourself. im sorry i hope this helps. good luvk! :)

defientely not. is my suggestion.

pointe hurts.

shur it looks pretty but it damages your feet..

your feet tend to form into a cringed shpe from pointe shoes and they cost a lot....you have to buy padding and everything else to go with it and it gives you bunions, blisters and turns your toe nails purple...without taken care of

the store DOES care if you do ballet or not because you will have to get UP on pointe when you buy them to see for size. they will ask you to go into different ballet positions and usually ask for your teacher and what studio you dance at.

if you dont know the ballet positions they ask you to do, they may refuse to sell you the shoe.

*most stores sell different brands of ballet shoes and not usually only blochs and stuff. unless you are going into the main bloch stores in which they will ask even more questions about your ballet education.

i suggest buying a pair of flats that have a box shape in the front to LOOK like pointe shoes..

You can, but it's not the best idea. I tried my friends pointe shoes on, but ive done ballet for 6 years.

If you are going to decorate them or something to hang up then that it is fine. If you are actually going to walk around in them though I do not recommend it. It is very dangerous without a supervisor and not a lot of ballet training probably means your ankles can't support you very well.

The short answer is that you can buy anything you have the money for. The longer answer is that if you want to buy these shoes, then letting the seller help you choose the right ones is a very good idea. Any reputable seller of pointe shoes definitely should be asking questions to help them help you.

No. Do not buy pointe shoes unless you take classes. You have to be under supervision by a professional dancer. You don't want to break your ankle! Hope this helps, Xochitl

They will probably ask you a lot of questions, if it is your first pair of pointe shoes as they will try to fit you.

Buy them only for decoration.. do not use them. You can very easily hurt yourself and could even do some permanent damage if you are not trained well.
