1. Evaluate: 5k/(9-7) when k = 6

First: replace "6" with the k-variable....

[5(6)]/(9-7)

Sec: use PEMDAS > (), exponents, multiplication, division, addition & subtraction...

30/2
= 15

2. Evaluate: (2x)(5x) - 23 when x = 4

First: replace "4" with the x-variable...
(2*4)(5*4) - 23

(8)(20) - 23
160 - 23
= 137

3. Evaluate: 3p + (2 - p) when p = 3
First: replace "3" with the p-variable...
3(3) + (2 - 3)

9 + (-1)
9 - 1
= 8

4. When x = -1; y = 5 and z = 2, find the value of 3xy-2
First: replace "-1" with the x-variable & "5" with the y-variable...

3(-1)(5) - 2

3(-5) - 2
- 15 - 2
= - 17
