Do any community colleges around where you live offer a 2 year associates program for an RN? I would suggest researching that route, before going for an LVN....Once you have your Associates Degree and RN, you can then get a Bachelors degree in a related field to specialize in what you want. You will earn more money as an RN, versus an LVN, and be able to pick up a wider range of cases if you are in home care. You will be much more in demand as an RN. I am not certain about the clinical requirements for an LVN, but the 2 year associates can't be that much more. I have been a nurse for 29 years. I have my BSN, and my MS in Early Intervention. At the time I went for my degree, there were still a lot of Diploma programs available. A nurse gave me the advice to get my BSN, and I am glad I took her advice.Once you have one degree in nursing, you should pursue a related degree, it makes you more marketable. Once you know how to be a nurse, it doesn't make much sense to go back to school and get a second degree in something you have already been working at.

i'm also an RN, congratulations on your accomplishment. you go with to communicate along with your prompt manager straight away. there is more desirable in touch than only pay--duty being #a million. Have your household projects replaced to duplicate your RN prestige? Are you signing with RN? Being indexed as an LVN on the time table would only be a glitch interior the equipment. verify along with your manager to confirm that you at the on the spot are not only receiving the pay of an RN yet ending up the household projects/responsibilities of an RN.

Sure, but be pretty sure before you start the program that you can finish it. Even LVN school can make big demands on your time. You have to be on time and work and study hard. Be sure you can make that commitment before starting so it doesn't go to waste later on.
