I don't think everyone is given things today. It's just the opposite. It seems like the only people who are given things are people who are already rich and famous. Have you seen the gifts that actors/actresses get at awards shows and movie festivals? They also get tons of free clothes and other gifts. It's crazy!
People who are happy with fame, whether it's 15 seconds or 15 minutes, are those who are insecure and derive their self-esteem from the attention of others. It's getting pathetic to see how desperate people will degrade themselves for a little publicity.
