From the 90's ..here goes ..Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Jane's Addiciton, Filter, Oasis...All great bands !!!!
Those are my favorites man.. STP is my all time fave tho.

The Adicts are a classic 80s punk band, but they have been around since the mid-seventies too.
Bauhaus is great. I love their distorted guitars and campy darkness.
Misfits of course. You can't go wrong with one of the original hardcore bands.
Starflyer 59 is a great neo-psychodelic band.
And the Cure ain't bad either.
And Twsited Sister! They are the best pop metal band ever.
