So, yeah I'm a teenager. I've drank a few times. Once, it got really bad I ruined friends carpet and bedsheets, etc. by throwing up everywhere. I thought drinking was fun, and it's really not all it's choked up to be. Will it get any better? Will I have more fun with it as I get used to it, or as I mature more? Everytime I think of liquor I feel sick to my stomach, and I just laugh about what I did that night, but throwing up is awful. Are there any remedies to help you not throw up.. or what? I know those were alot of questions, but it would be nice if you could answer them ALL, if you can.

No. You're right, in that it isn't as special as people would make it seem. I'm going on 18, and I've never gotten blasted because I've seen what it does to people. What the hell is fun about drinking yourself into a coma? I've had friends get caught by the parents or the cops, and that can't be too good of an experience. You'll have more fun when your body and mind are mature enough (that's why the drinking age is 21, aside from the whole DWI thing, which many people still can't restrain themselves from doing). The remedy to not throw up is to not drink. But don't feel like a social outcast or anything for it. Half my group of friends drink, and half don't. I just choose to watch them look like assholes and make sure they don't get in a car. And of course go noses on cleaning up the vomit.

Hello teenager,
Sounds familiar.
Will drinking get better, I believe that depends on you and your control. There are adults who still get that drunk, it hasn't changed for them.

I think when you do get used to drinking and a little older you may develop some limitations which will allow you to enjoy the alcohol rather then be so sick.

Drinking lot's of water will help you not be sick. Drink water throughout the night and before you go to bed. Sweet drinks are the worst because they dehydrate you so much and you can consume a lot because you do not taste or feel the alcohol right away.

The other thing is, you've tried it. Doesn't mean it's for you and it's almost more cool not to drink. Follow what you feel to do, not what everyone else is doing (if that's part of it).

Hope this helps.

I am one of the lucky people on this earth, who got drunk once when I was a teenager.....very bad choice....thew up for what seemed like days, felt sick and miserable and embarrassed for days and days more.

I vowed at that time that I would never drink to excess again, which I never have. I also do not drink and drive, although I have been designated driver for friends who have not been sober.

I enjoy having one or sometimes two glasses of wine or the occasional mixed drink, but I have chosen to have fun without being "trashed."

What you should learn from this experience is that your body was telling you that it does not process alcohol easily and was getting it out of itself as quickly as it could.
There are no remedies...it doesn't matter what anyone will tell you.

I have friends who have questioned the fact that I have always had the guts to say no to too much alcohol, but I don't find it difficult at all. When I look around me at people who drink excessively, who are actually alcoholics I feel sad for them.

One of my friends just had her brother die with complications from alcoholism, and he was only 32 years old. His whole body shut down and his liver and kidneys were no longer functioning because of his alcohol consumption.

Please let this be a good learning experience for you. You will not end up with any friends if you go around throwing up on their belongings...that is something to think about also.

You had a bit of a Freudian slip when you typed...it's not all it choked up to be. The saying is actually it's not all it's chalked up to be....just the thought of excessive alcohol was making you think of choking.....Have a good night.

As a teenager I won't reccomend drinking to you, you have far better things to focus on in your life. Drinking can lead to very bad choices and situations. If you are drinking so much that you are vomiting then you are drinking way to much. As you mature you will realize that social drinking is something very different then binge drinking which is what you are doing. Binge drinking can lead to death and cause you to be in situations that you cannot control.
Please wait to start drinking till you are older and more mature, that way you can gage the amount you are drinking and stop before you get yourself into trouble.

If it makes you sick, just stop.

I for one love alcohol, but I hate being drunk. I drink alcohol just for the "bite" it gives drinks, but I never drink more than one or two in a night and that's only when I'm sure I won't be driving.

If you force yourself to get "lit" all the time, you're really setting yourself up for a lifetime of alcoholism.
