Blaze, here are the answers (and explanation:
11. D --> 280/600= .4667x100=46.67% BUT that's the amount that you gave away. 100-46.67=53.33%
14. A --> $35 x .2 (convert percentage to decimal) = $7
16. B --> when dividing fractions you "turn over" the 2nd fraction and multiply. The original problem was (5/31)/(15/23). This becomes (5/31)x(23/15). Now you can cross-simplify. 5 goes into 15 3 times. so the fractions become (1/31)x(23/3). Then just cross multiply, to get 23/93.
20. A--> 2+1+3.5+10+6.0 = 22.50

9. D. $360.00
(28/100 = 100.80/X do the algebra and solve for x)

11. C. 46.67%
(280/600 = X/100, do the algebra and solve for x)

14. A. $7.00
(35 X 0.20 , you move the decimal point of the percent, then multiply)

16. D. 115/465
(5/31 X 23/15, remember when DIVIDING fractions, you flip the second fraction and multiply)

20. A. $22.50
(Half-dollar: so that is either a whole dollar or 50 cents, thus: $1.85 = $2.00
$.98 = $1.00
$ 3.49 = $3.50
$9.78 = $10.00
$6.18 = $6.00 , add all the rounded numbers)

I hope that cleared it up a bit ^^

The answer for 16 is B because the quotient of 5/31 IS 5/31, which is divided by 15/23, or multiplied by 23/15. 20 is A because the first price will be rounded to $2, the second to $1, the third to $3.50, the fourth to $10, and the final to $6.

1. .28x = 100.80
100.80/.28 = 360

2. 320/600 = 53.33%

3.35 x .20 = 7

4. 115/465

5. 2 + 1 + 3.50 + 10+6= $22.50
