O-rank actually stands for Overall Rank, and is based on past season's performances. O-rank will not change throughout the season as far as my experience goes, and I have played at least 5 years of fantasy basketball on yahoo. When making a decision about a player always go by the Rank. You can sort the Rank to be by that season, the past month, or the past week. I like to look at all three and kind of average them out. Rank is more reliable, but try to take to account that if a player is hurt for even a week, their rank will drop quite a bit even if they played very well the rest of the season.

The other answers are kind of right, but O-Rank is past performance AND current and rest of the season projections. Rank is how well a player is doing either the entire current season or a shorter interval that you might select such as last month or last week.

The o-rank is official/original rank, and is kind of like how highly they're "valued" before the draft. Rank is how highly they are currently valued, based upon their play this season, injuries, etc.
Sometimes the o-rank changes during the season as well, in order to reflect their current value in leagues that did not conduct their draft before the actual season started, and are thus drafting in the middle of the season.

O-ranks do no longer substitute in the process the year. Use the rank with the term, i.e. season, month, week which you're feeling is right. look on the backside left of the participant web site for a number of links to definitions. sturdy success.
