Yes, it's so bad that I don't go anywhere without my friend's dog to protect me. And even then I don't feel totally safe. Talk to me. E.

They are just being cautious. Some children haven't been diagnosed with specific allergies yet and when some kids are allergic to things, they don't always know to tell someone that they aren't feeling right. It can be a deadly situation. Most adults know by that point what they are allergic to and know what to do if they come in contact with something. They also know the signs of a reaction and when they just aren't feeling right. Some schools might take it a little far, like the stuff about in the morning...but i think the nut free tables and classrooms are a great precaution.

I live in a safe city, 6th safest in the country, I feel pretty safe BUT I make myself safe, im always aware of my surrounding of where I go. I always have a map of where IM going, I keep a sharp object in my hand if im by myself. WHen I walk for exercise I dont go alone, i dont wear headphones or ipods!

I can remember when I was a child, living in the back fields country, we slept with our doors wide open, and never locked the door, even when we were gone.

There are certain places where this has always been the case.
You just have to be very aware and not think you're in fairytale land.
