I do not think it matters in McCain's case. I think his military expertise will serve him well, if he plans to inherit a US at war.
The "something that happened" was Iran. Iran cannot have nukes.

because of his agreements w/ Bush on troops, I believe he could win the primary, but lose the election...but if it's head to head with Hillary, could be very interesting, but i think the people will choose something new over a failed vision. I also think McCain is flip flopping over the issues--I do not respect him much anymore.....It's sad, because although I am Liberal, I believe in the system in general...the people will decide and the best man should win....if the Mideast gets worse, I woould want a real militry man as president or at least a career government man...not a 1 term governor like Bush or a newcomer like Obams (however much I like Obama, he does not have the experience yet..maybe in 2012)

surely, that is no longer honest to declare Bush benefitted politically from 9/11. He did no longer. It heavily replaced the concentration of his administration removed from his significant different and young ones schedule, and compelled his hand into doing issues that had significant political threat, such with the aid of fact the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. And on an identical time as politically an attack may well be a reminder to those who prefer to revert to September 10th questioning, if certainty be recommended that no-one might rather income on it. And that is no longer honest or maybe civil to declare that McCain might like an attack to help his marketing campaign. that's basically a awful execrable smear.

I used to admire John McCain and still do for what he went through in Viet Nam - he's a true American hero. However, as a politician, he has become Bush's lapdog and an apologist for the Bush administration. Its almost as if he's been brainwashed. He has that kind of strange, blank look on his face now that wasn't there before. Like Bush, he now speaks in single syllable words and simple sentences. Next, he'll be reading My Pet Goat. He has basically killed any chances he has for the Oval Office. He should get smart like John Kerry and announce he isn't running.

It's too late now. McCain and Bush are practically married. Very sad. McCain used to be a honorable man. I've lost alot of respect for him.

Wild Thing nailed it. McCain used to speak out against
what Bush is doing. I can remember him saying "Bush is
spending money like a drunken sailor".
Then, something happened to him, of which will most likely
remain a mystery for a long, long time. Kind of sad.

Unlike the liberals McCain sticks to his positions. The dummycrats are too busy trying to get the smokescreen in place to accomplish anything. Pelosi is trying to act like a president instead of doing her job as the speaker of the house. No matter how much she gyrates she still has to squat to take a leak. Bush has the balls and she needs to take her position in the government and not try and be president.

If McCain holds to his opinion that we should get in there and win in Iraq he will be seen as a leader. I believe it is all of the rats who are deserting a ship that is not even sinking who will pay the political price. Cowards are not viewed well in society.

After hearing his most recent comments I think he already has started to distance himself. All of the other Rep candidates will follow.

How can he do that? His ideology is written by the same people that write Bush's. Cheney and Rove. He's forgotten how to think and speak for himself.
