A few years ago I had a life threatening illness. I accumulated a couple hundred thousand dollars in medical bills. I am not able to pay any more more than what I am currently paying. I got served papers today for one of those medical bills. What can I do. Can I fill a counter suit for all the harrassing this company did to me at home and at work, what options do I have.

You owe them the money, so you can't counter sue them for trying to get you to pay what you owe. They are going to win the case, since you owe the money. They will then garnish your pay check and get as much as they can from you. If you own anything of value they are going to come after that too. If you really have no way of settling your bill then the only option may be bankruptcy ... not the ideal solution but that may be the only way

i would not worry about that. Medical bills issues. Just pay what you can to them. They are just trying to scare you in paying in full. You can seek a credit consolidation comany and get there advise on this issue. If you set up a payment plan with the medial bill company and you are paying even if it is 10$ a month they can not come back and sue you. make sure when you pay your bills to keep all paper trail. You could talk to a debt lawyer for advise also.

You have lots of options, First you should get your own lawyer, if you are paying your bills and the company is still harassing you, they have no right, it is unlawful, another thing you can do is find out what history the account has and if it is able to go to forbearance's, if you can't pay cause of financial situations, they cannot sued you.

If you owe them money, you cannt sue them for asking for what they are due.

You can either dispute the claim, settle for a lesser amount or even consider filing for bankruptcy. If I were you i'd find yourself a trustworthy attorney.
