The answer should be E-1680. Here's why:

There's four spots on th comittee, right? So start with this:

_ _ _ _

the first blank can be any of the eight people, so put 8 in the first blank.

8 _ _ _

the second blank can be anyone except the one you've chosen for the first spot, so there's 7 choices left.

8 7 _ _

Keeping with that line, you get

8 7 6 5

Now, to find the possible solutions, you just multiply the numbers together and you get 1680.

This is just the quick version. You may have talked about permutations in your class and that's how you'll really solve this kind of problem. That kind of information is explained in the site I posted. Hope this helps and good luck!
