I get 2000mb on a speed of 300k to use over a one month period. if i go over this limit i get slowed down to 28k speed. The problem is I use up the mb's every month in 15-20 days and those last 10-15 days of 28k speed are really irritating. Is there a program that somehow limits my internet use ... or some way i can work it out..

i didnt know there were free internet services... It's broadband..we got this isp on our change over from dial up to broadband and didnt know much about it. so we're stuck with it for like 2 years, once we're done with it, we'll know more and be able to pick a more suitable company.

I'm guessing your in Australia or New Zealand as Ive not heard of these kinda limits in The US/Canada and Europe.

Anyway i know how you feel im in the same boat. im on 10gb a month 5gb day 5gb night. Its not to bad usually lasts the month we haven't yet gone over although its come close some times.

Tips id have are avoid downloading if you don't need to. Stay away from sites with lots of graphic images on also you tube and sites like that they all use up abit. you can usually check what size the file is before you download it.

last idea is try keeping an eye on how much quota you use each day my advice is a download meter of some description. i think telstra and optus offer one through there regular net plans otherwise try this site http://netusage.mozdev.org/ (you need firefox).

my quota this month is low although should just be fine I'm with westnet atm although may change when our plan runs out.

i'm with talktalk and each and each month you get 40 gigabytes of bandwidth. even if you do not use all of it, you nonetheless only get 40gb even as it is reset each and each month to 0... So locate out what your getting a month and in the experience that they are slowing you down locate out how lengthy for. they ought to easily be slowing you down for that month. My talktalk is £21 a month and for yet another £5 i am going to get it as a lot as 80gb a month..... so factor out this on your provider or maybe ask for a broadcast letter of your utilization in the experience that they get lippy... you should have a precise too recognize how a lot you've lengthy gone over through. Talktalk ought to deliver you a letter to assert you went over and also you've were given the alternative to end or be cut back off until eventually eventually next month your large difficulty is the information superhighway sites your gazing, as those videos are huge in length. A bbc 30 min software is round 300mb and youtube vids would properly be huge also. So verify the video high quality and dealing time of each and every video, because the better the wide-spread the more desirable the document will be. oh convinced the gadget tutor on television had a wee software that video demonstrate gadgets your utilization plus even as they say limitless, their speaking b####ks..
