To prove that 2+2 = 4, you would have to follow a 23,085 step method, involving quite a bit of math (2,204 subtheorems) and a rather lot of time. numbers are made up anyway. they're supposed to be one of those things that are accepted. 2 X 2 is 4 does that help. 4-2 is 2
4/2 is 2.

What the hell? 2+2=4 because no other answer when added together will equal two when you use two numerial numbers and add them together. I just is, why do you need proof? Dx

2+2 = 4 because that is the way the number scale is defined. If the number scale were defined differently, then it wouldn't, but it is.

take 2 letters; A & B.
take 2 more letters; C & D.
add to letters to 2 letters & get A, B, C & D= 4 letters.
