Abercrombie and Fitch has an appearance code - they only want workers who look a certain way in their stores. In California a few years ago, they were sued by a group of Asian students who had applied for jobs there and been turned down, due to their race. It became clear upon further investigation that A & F's style code was biased towards White people and discriminated against Asians, Latinos and Blacks. The lawsuit was settled out of court, but A & F still has an employee style code.

One of those news magazine shows (20/20, 60 Minutes, Dateline, I forget which one) had someone work undercover at an Abercrombie. When a black person asked for an employment application, the employees would tell them that they were all out of applications. It was a pretty pervasive problem across many A&F stores, not just an isolated incident.

Also awhile ago they were selling some t-shirts that some Asians and Buddhists found offensive. I only remember one that said "2 Wongs make it White" (it was refering to a Chinese laundry) but there were several more different shirts.

it depends where you live though. in California and more diverse states, it is more common for A&F to have a lot of different races, but in the middle states which are mostly white and old fashioned, you''ll notice that the mionorities there are looked down upon by the whites. but no A&F is not racist, people just say that to make excuses for being turned down....you know other stuff too.
and just wondering but if you asked them if they were racist on their site, would you ever think they would say yes??!!
