Please be specific, do you mean 3x = 92 Or, 3x = 9^2? I'll solve for both....
1. 3x = 92
First: isolate "x" on one side > divide both terms by "3"...
3x/3 = 92/3
x = 92/3
2. 3x = 9^2
3x = (9)(9)
3x = 81
First: isolate "x" on one side > divide both terms by "3"...
3x/3 = 81/3
x = 27
