I am not going to say they are the same thing because I don't feel so, and neither do I have evidence to prove or disprove that.

I believe I have to attribute it to George Bush, because I feel I have been misled into linking 9/11 with the insurgency in Iraq. Or, with all the media influences and Bush's directions (all over the place, if you ask me), I could have been having cognitive errors myself and eventually seem to get confused eventually. Maybe it happens to many people too.

Well, a sign of confusion would be that I always say "Saddam" when I really wanted to say "Osama". So there..

9/11 provided a convenient excuse for the Bush administration to march into Iraq, as that was already in their plans long before that tragic day. People confuse terrorism with insurgency because they have been lead to believe the pack of lies that the Bush administration constantly tries to feed the American public. Bush controls with fear. He tries to make the people afraid and himself as the hero. Savior of the nation...I think that we have more to fear from the ill planned antics of George Bush than anything else on earth. This man has created far more danger for the American public than ever before.

Now they're trying to say that the insurgency in Iraq is actually IRAN, setting us up for the next Bush war.

I think at least 7 out of 10 people now, no longer are confused about that anymore. I think people are starting to open up their eyes and ears now. Now that you have mentioned it, it just goes to show that you are not one of those that can be influenced to believe. What our government and the media trying to do is get us hypnotized into believing that these two are the cause of the other. They just don't add up. I'm glad too that you understand that these two things are not the same criteria. In other words neither of these two things led or is causing one or the other to happen. It's a mess and guess what, I think it's a cover up. And you and I are the ones ended up paying for the mess of all these stupidity. It's sick and sickening, dude. Good enough, yes? By the way, I'm not a Lib.

The answer is simple. The general public is fickle and are like sheep. Always following and never thinking for themselves. With regard to the comment about Bush wants to eradicate all terrorism. I say he is a so full of crap. There is more "terrorism" in other places than Iraq. I don't necessarily agree with Israel but having bombs placed on buses and shopping centres are acts of terrorism. The kurds in Turkey enjoy blowing up tourist spots, but Bush does not feel the need to eradicate those terrorists. Bush uses the media to fuel a campaign of fear.

Because Bush/Cheney went on a campaign saying that Iraq had ties to the highjackers , then later after the invasion retracted their statements, but it was firmly implanted in the minds of their supporters, who are now wakling up and abandoning their sinking ship! More lies to obtain their goals, they conned congress and the American People with their deciet

from defense intell it's self...

Islamic fundamentalism. The people who carried out the attacks on 9/11 are the same as, and have the same crazy beliefs as, the insurgency in Iraq.

There, that was easy. Next!

Because people believe what they hear on the TV and in the newspaper rather than looking into the truth of things. The GOP controlsthe media so they can get any message hey want across.

Its not confusion. The people who equate the two are the neocons--and in their minds they are one and he same. Why? By their own public statements--examples of which you can read right here in Answers--since these people are all Muslims, they are therefore enemies. And for the neocons, that religious difference justifies killing them. So--to them--there is no real difference.
