this appears to be a hydraulic problem. the master and slave cylinders are sold as a unit pre-bled and reservoir filled. there is no provision for adjustment at all. to replace, remove the battery and air filter housing, then remove 1 bolt at slave cylinder and push in and twist counterclockwise at the same time. now under dash remove retaining clip from clutch pedal [at the clutch master cyl. push rod] and remove rod from pedal then unbolt the master cyl. from firewall. now snake the whole assembly out, NOTING THE ROUTE snake the new parts in with the same routing as old and finish reassembly as reverse of removal. one last note 1992 was a long time ago if clutch disc ,pressure plate and release bearing have never been changed these are probably overdue this job requires sub frame removal and is best and cheapest done by the saturn dealer. good luck and i hope yours doesn't guzzle oil like mine did [95 model]

i own a repair shop, and the first thing id do is check the fluid in it to see if its full, second id check and see if it can be adjusted out any at all,i think i know what its doing ,it s mot going down far enough to get it in gear easily and that usually can be corrected by adjusting it or bleeding the system out real good on it,you might want to have this done though, this is one of those things that can get worse if you don't do it right, good luck,i hope this help,s.

if you mean pedal travels to the floor easily check your fluid and possibly bleed it. if you mean clutch plates worn out probably change it
