1 conservative wants limited federal government in local issues, liberalism feels there should be a strong federal government

2. conservatives, limited capacity. liberalism, more involvement, more programs if you will

3. conservatives are SUPPOSE to have a spend thrift attitude, whereas liberals feel the government must be fully funded in order to feed the machine

4.conservatives are SUPPOSE to think we are responsible for our place within society with a windfall for those who absolutely cannot provide for themselves, liberals feel the government can solve your problems without your input

5. conservatives and liberals alike are SUPPOSE to realize that in MOST circumstances the government should have limited involvement in the questions of morality.

i typically am a conservative when it comes to the federal government but i cannot deny that mr bush has not been the conservative i hoped he would be. although he has lowered taxes he has requested way too much government spending and the congress has obliged him. he also has grown the government more than any other conservative president in recent memory and perhaps any president in the history, at least since FDR. also, i think he has been too liberal in some of his social programs. finally, i think the biggest strike against the conservative party in the eyes of those who are not conservative is when reagan paid back the religous right (the fundamentalist) with his attack on porn, drugs and abortion. abortion is a complete mockery and devalues human life, however, what the hell stake do i have in what a woman does with her body based on a moral issue as long as the government isn't paying for the abortion and the child is part of my making. (i will say that equal protection under the law should give a man more rights in whether the child is aborted if he does want it and if it is born whether he has to provide funding for the child if he doesn't want it). also who the hell is to say what we watch in the privacy of our own home and what i do with my body with regard to drugs. i wish we could find a mcgovern conservative in the conservative party and if so i think the conversatives would mostly marginalize the modern day liberal movement. of course, this is a very simplistic answer but i don't want to belabor the point any more than i have already.

1. Liberals find general rules of right and wrong offensive and unproven. Conservative think rugged individualism brings the best out of you.
2. Liberals=more government helps people. Conservatives=less government helps people.
3. Liberals believe everyone should share in the wealth no matter what the reasons. Conservatives believe anyone can gain wealth with determination and drive.
4. Liberals believe everyone should have a blanket cradle-to-grave safety net for all occasions. Ie; health, income, social status, etc. Conservatives believe a hand up is better than a hand out. (the feeding a fish versus teaching how to fish proverb comes to mind)
5. Liberals find their ideals from more liberal leaders, including hollywood elite, socially outspoken protesters, rock stars, etc. Conservatives find their sources from their namesake; conservative thinking originates from the ideas of our fore fathers.

Think California...in Cali the Liberals are far leaning left liberals while the Normal Conservative (more Dornan than Arnold) are more right leaning Conservatives. Its the difference of Orange County to San Fransisco.

1) Core Values

Conservatives -- Operate on the paradigm of competition. The winners are good, right, and salutary, and the losers lose because they are bad, lazy, and not nearly as deserving as the "good" winner. Oddly enough, many who hold this value claim to be very Christian and pious, while completely oblivious to its complete incompatability with Christ's message.

Liberals -- Operate on the core value that everyone deserves to live, have the oppurtunity for meaningful work, have access to food, water, healthy community, and adequate shelter. Do not deny the value of marketplace competition, and do not believe that those who succeed shouldn't be rewarded for their success, but do not believe that they should be allowed to succeed off of the backs of the poor and downtrodden.

2) Capacity of Government for Conservatives seems to be solely as market regulator. Whatever works best for the market and those who dominate the market must be what is best for the nation. Any nation who threatens this ideal in any way, shape, or form must be beaten down by the military to continue to ensure the Hegemony of the American market and military.

Capacity of Government for LIberals seems to be that of a safety net for the poor and downtrodden, a market regulator such that the success of the successful is not devalued, but that the success of the successful is not achieved through taking advantage of the poor or other shady means. Also, liberals want their government to be able to exist in equal relationships with other world leaders, and to be able to employ diplomacy and reason, so that we do not make of ourselves a target of world hatred.

#3) Conservatives seem to believe that every resource the world over really belongs to them, and any nation that does not welcome such an idea are acting as recalcitrant children who need to open their boarders to the American market. They also seem to think that it is perfectly alright to go into other nations who are in debt, and destroy the country by privatizing resources (and of course, its always American corps who own the goodies) that should never be privatized, such as water. And then, when protests arise, they kill the people who protest and chide them for their lack of vision. Check out the real purpose behind the IMF and world bank.

Liberals believe that certain resources should never be privatized or subjected to the market, because as the market was originally conceived, items which everyone absolutely and fundamentally needs should never be risked by making them affordable only to some. Liberals believe that we must regulate the behavior of large corporations who are destroying the environment, dictating our public policy, and instituting an underground plutocracy. We actually continue to hold the vision of small businesses and their right to flourish alongside big businesses without being devoured. We believe that we must put into a place economic measures to ensure the well-being of the poorest of the poor. We realize that only a very small minority of the worlds poor are that way because of internal faults, and thus, we realize that they are being made victims of destructive economic policies and systems that feed off the poor to make money for the rich.

#4) Conservatives do not seem to think that there should be any social responsibility whatsoever. Because such an idea directly conflicts with their prevailing ideology and utter worship of pure competition and pure winners.

Liberals of course, do believe in Social responsibility both here and worldwide. We could use our wealth to the improvment of the whole world. We could truly be a light for the nations, and an example. But instead we are choosing to be a schoolyard bully.

5) I'm sure many conservatives would claim to be Christian. I, myself, do not see how Conservative values at all could stem from Christianity. They seem to focus on OT judgment, damnation, and the only lives that seem to matter to them are those of the unborn, and those who they see as "successful"

There are many liberals who claim many different spiritual sources for morality and ethics, and many who don't. I myself, am a liberal Christian, who believes that Christ really meant it when he said, "blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall inherit the earth," and "Blessed are the Poor," and "Love your enemies"

Neither one. it is heading in direction of a plutocracy. the wealthy have been bailed out many times returned. The Federal Reserve has bailed out banks that are "too enormous to fail" many times returned. as quickly as they failed, the U. S. government bailed them out returned. The Fed is bailing them out returned right now. The Congress needs them to maintain the Bush tax decrease. in spite of everything, they are doing one among those great pastime, and it is in comparison to we want gross sales or something..... the hollow between the wealthy and the undesirable is increasing at an astronomical fee. while the economic gadget grows, the wealthy get almost all the upward push and the undesirable get pennies. while the undesirable ***** approximately having a complicated time making ends meet, they get smacked down by skill of the supporters of the plutocracy. they only decide to help the wealthy get richer. The undesirable ought to all substitute into homeless for all they care. that's a lot greater significant to them that the wealthy get yet another million money of their pocket. The undesirable are incorrect to ***** approximately having a complicated time making ends meet without government guidance, in spite of working 2 or 3 jobs of their view. Bailouts at the instant are not for the undesirable, in user-friendly terms for the wealthy.
