None of the above. To me, a soulmate is someone you are destined to be with. You either knew each other in another life or you just sense, immediately that your souls belong together. You feel it from the first moment you look in their eyes. It isn't just attraction, it's recognition. It feels right. & you're happy together & you have strange things in common & you feel an intense bond on every level & it doesn't compare to anyone else you've ever loved & you know that they're "the one."
Not everyone waits to find their soulmate. Most people settle for someone they love & wind up unhappy. This would explain the high divorce rate. Some people don't even believe in soulmates...
I think you're better off alone than being with the wrong person. When you find the right person, you know & it's extraordinary.

My soulmate exists. He's the father of my children, a man who hurt me, a man I am no longer with, but whom I can turn to for any reason and know he will understand me. He is my best friend, the one person on this planet who I know will hold my hand as I lie dying and encourage me to go forth with no fear. He completes me, is my match emotionally and intellectually, and understands that we both have things to accomplish before we can be together again. Just as I want him to be happy, he wants the same for me. Our purposes are the same, even though he has loved another woman since knowing me and I have loved another man. What we are to each other transcends 'love'. That is MY definition of a soulmate.

5. None of the above
The answer from amp sounds like the usually accepted definition.
I think a soulmate is someone that lives in another dimension in another galaxy and is permanently inaccesible so that you can't get there from here and won't ever meet. But it's good to know they are alive somewhere in the universe.

A soulmate is somebody that has journeyed with me earlier. we are kindred spirits, and being with them is like coming homestead. They comprehend you, because of the stories that have been shared in different lives. I even have 2 soulmates (that i'm conscious of) in this present day incarnation. One is my brother. the different is my suitable buddy. i do no longer ought to describe something to them, and that they do no longer ought to describe themselves to me. A soulmate isn't inevitably somebody which you will marry and undergo babies with. You asked

For me a soul-mate is the reunion of a loved soul from previous life , you have to believe in spiritualism and reincarnation to believe in the true soul-mate , when soul-mates are found each other we can almost eerily recognize each other , there is a different kind of attraction than your normal relations , soul-mate relations the true ones are only very few ,and hard to find but it is possible , and when you find one , you will find an amazing quantity of recognitions and similarities that is just to much to believe is only a coincidence .

The one perfect for you, the one meant for you. To my ways of thinking it could be anyone, and you decide it as you go along what feels most right for you, there could be someone you'd think is more perfect for you but as it'd turn out your more accustomed to the less compatible person thus that's your soulmate. It's simply who you feel is most right for you on planet earth.

You don't have to fall in love/marry/even meet your soul mate.
A soul mate is someone who would be your perfect match. Sadly you may never find your perfect match.
