The movie or the book? In the movie, definitely a tie between Merry and Pippin, but in the book my favorite character is Treebeard - I was so irritated that they had the same man playing two characters with EXACTLY the same voice...

Its hard to choose just one. I always love Aragorn as a character, and Sam with his grit and his motivational lines. Gandalf always has something wise to say and Theodan is awesome when he is about to strike against Mordor. My favorite would have to be Aragorn.
