1994 Al Iafrate 102.7 mph
1993 Al Iafrate 105.2 mph
Look it up… Officially it’s Iafrate.
They Do SAY that Iafrate had a 107mph blast and McGinnis having a 102mph blast. But officially there is no 107 mark.
Both recorded at ALL STAR Games with the puck laying still.
If you look at science a moving object that changes trajectory when force is acted upon it can have a higher speed.
Brett Hull once took off the tip of a goalie’s finger with his one timer.
Recently rookie goalie Mike Smith for the Dallas Stars had a puck hit his mask and it broke the Metal bar that protects him between the eyes. The bars bent back to the face.
Usually pucks travel anywhere between 80 – 100 MPH on shots. Some can be slower.

It varies by player
The average in the NHL is about 90 mph
The recent skills logged a few 100 mph shots
Bobby Hull is said to have shot a puck at 115 mph
But since the skills started, I think the best is 106

Anywhere from 70 - 100 MPH, depending on if it's a one-timer slapshot or if it's a standing still slapshot. Granted, they have to get everything on it, if they don't it will be less than that.
If you're talking about wrist shots, snap shots, or backhands, however, it's more like 20-60 MPH. Wrist shots will go faster, with backhands being second, and snap shots the slowest.
Just look at how much energy is being applied with each type of shot, and you'll come to the same conclusion.
The record for the fastest slap shot is... 1993 Al Iafrate 105.2 mph

Some slapshots propel the puck between 80-100 mph. Speeds exceeding 100 mph have been recorded by some of the hardest shooters.

During a game, pucks can reach speeds of 100+ mph (160 km/h) when struck and are potentially dangerous to players and spectators. Puck-related injuries at hockey games are not uncommon.

al iafrate won the hardest shot competition on the 1990s with a shot of 107mph... that is the hardest i can recall... Al McInnes and Brett Hull would regularly fire shots around 100 mph... however, Booby Hull had the hardest shot ever recorded... unofficially at about 118mph (in the 1960s albeit).
in the NHL nowadays, guys fire the puck in the mid 90s generally...
