When you say, "a woman" one agrees. However, in a large number of cases, this woman need not be his wife. May be his partner and an immediate colleague or a subordinate. Success comes out because of better goal setting, better planning for better strategy, logistics and resources.Problem Solving in most instances adds equal prominence to head and heart and this is possible when two minds of opposite sexes combine and contribute in the decision-making process. In my experience as a trainer and a personnel manager, I have found that many women are predominently right brainy and come out with a lot of creative ideas. Lateral thinking contributes to innovations and inventions. Here the contributions of women play a larger role.
When I say this, I also say, that behind every successful woman, there is always a man, for the same reasons, perhaps with an added reasoning, that every creative idea of a woman can never be put into practice almost instantenously and this requires the reasonining ability usually displayed by men.

I totally agree.
A woman gave birth to that man and probably was encouraging and supportive of him. That would mean that a woman was behind the success of a man.

Not necessarily. There can be many good, helpful and supportive people behind a successful man; i.e. his mother, dad, sister, brother, friend and GOD. A man doesn't need a woman to have a lucrative career or to even be happy. It's the same way with a woman. Anybody can be happy alone. U just have to know u're value and how good u r alone. Usually, people who need other people to make them successful or happy have low self-esteem or other insecurities. Like I said, a person just has to know their self worth and importance.

I disagree. I would like to think that it should be, "BESIDE every successful man there is always a woman." Not behind.

Well... I say that it depends on what the mans idea of "successful" is...
A guy could have the most desired job, have all the money in the world, drive the nicest of cars, have a few houses here and there and really be living it up. But he might still not feel like he's accomplished all his wanted, he might still not consider himself successful, because he doesn't have that "special someone" in his life to complete him...
Then again, another guy might have a different mentality...
So basically I reckon it depends on the individual himself...
But bear in mind, most of the time, Moms always there too...
