my mother-inlaw does it and we live here and i find it rather disgusting but she insists its perfectly fine. but i have always heard that its bad for you. i never eat anything from our fridge with the spoon in it. (shes lazy and doesnt like to do dishes, i think this is the reason she does it)

It's disgusting. Food should be decanted into a clean container for storage in the fridge.

not sure about spoons but no, your not suppose to leave food in cans and in the fridge...big no no...i guess the metal when exposed to the air..not sure exactly but no, just dont do it..it makes the food have a metalic taste anyway...

incidently, if you cook tomatoes you should do it in an iron skillet as the iron leaks into the tomatoes and is good for you..go figure.

If you put a can in the fridge with food in it, the food takes on the taste of the can. Its really nasty. Also, I think it may cause metal poisoning.

if you ate off the spoon, it contains bacteria. This will only get better as it sits in there open to the air..

I think it's the fact that they get realy cold or something like that (I know, odd answer, but it seems pretty reasonable if you think about it...lol), at least I think so.
