Have we become more like roommates than countrymen in America?

With all of this multicultural B.S. I feel that we in America are more like roommates than countrymen, until something bad happens like 9/11. You got all of these special interest groups that clearly state that they are only looking out for certain people. For exp. the congressional black caucus, the congressional Hispanic,etc.

Wait till the population doubles. Then they will seem like it all the more.
