As a Wife OR a Husband you took a vow to love, honor and obey them. A vow is a promise and a bond. Be true to yourself and be true to your spouse by keeping that vow strong and sacred. It is a joint venture that has many wonderful rewards. So YES, women SHOULD love, honor and obey their husbands as well as husbands loving, honoring and obeying their wives.

When I got married I insisted that the preacher have me repeat "love, honor and cherish" and omit the obey part. I don't obey any one but me. My dog obeys I do not.

I believe that a man and a woman who are married should love, honor, and respect each other, and that obedience, in this context, is about control and subservience---not love.
