My mother was born in the 1940s and enjoyed a series from the library but cannot remember what it was called. She says it was about a family of cave-people with names that were something like "Oog" and "Og." That sort of thing.
Does anyone know the name of the series? She said there were possibly at least three or more of these books.

Might be Irving Crump's series...Og, Son of Fire; Og of the Cave People; and Og, Boy of Battle were all published before the 1940's, and the fourth book was publishe in 1965.

This page has descriptions of the books about a third of the way down: http://www.trussel.com/prehist/crump/ogirv.htm
