movies dont live up to the book--some are just down right disrespectful!! i find they always leave things out- i realize its for time but it takes away. also in a book it can be written what the person/character is thinking while the movie does not have thought bubbles to let you know and it is rare for a actor to be that good to portray thoughts across the screen. i find myself often not watching a movie for fear of what they have done to the story. although there are movies that have done the story justice and i am very happy that they have given the story and new life.

It is mostly Movies don't live up to the Books. The reason is simple the mind creates an image for the situations, surroundings and characters in the Book while we read. When we view the movies these will be different created according to some other persons' imagination. This disappoints our expectation.

Usually the movie does not quite live up to the book. I feel that some good parts are either left out or they are not exactly like the book. Sometimes I get disappointed with the people chosen to play the main characters.

most of the time the books come first so movies don't live up to the book. movies leave out a lot of detail, if they didn't it would be like a 3 hour movie.

The only movies that I have seen that come close to the books was Lord of The Rings. The rest are Trash because the book is imaged in your mind which is 100% better then any movie or TV Show.

Movies "never" live up to the book. Ex. The Horse Whisperer. The book was awesome and the ending sad. But the movie destroyed it by changing the ending completely.

It depends on what you seen or read first. I read the Harry Potter books and prefer the books to the movies, although I enjoy the movies too, they just seem to leave out so much stuff. Then I saw the movie Narnia first before I read the book and I thought the movie was much better then the book.

Movies don't live up to the book. There is so much more detail in books and so many more depths of character, especially thoughts. Movies just show you what's on the surface, rarely being able to show the emotion and thought in things.

Usually, the book is better like in "Gone With the Wind" ,
Flowers for Algernon" (the movie version was "Charly")and "Interview with the Vampire", I found the books had so much more substance than the movies did, but in other books like, "Jaws", "The Godfather" and "The Exorcist", you're really missing something by not seeing the movie.
