Depending on where you are, the accents won't be fake. And there isn't a dumbing down. Everyone, no matter what race you are chooses to be as educated as you want to be. You can have a black kid in school doing horribly just as you can a white kid in school doing just as bad a town over.
It not a dumbing down of the english language, it's making the language your own. Different states and diff parts of the us have thier own way of talking just as diffeent parts of england have diff accents.
One thing i can't stand is when people spell the way they talk. Now thats nonsense. Its one thing to spell bad, but another to spell using ebonics!
