including the U.S. A.? Let's look at it as it really is.The US is concerned because despite Iran maintaining that they are not enriching uranium for other than energy purposes, they cannot be telling the truth due to their past behaviors. On the other hand, the US is a super power with superb(Ialleged) nuclear weapons capabilities, -plus tremendous military manpower. Now, many countries are entering the nuclear race, some with blessings of the US, others without. We were all concerned with that floating "white cloud" Condoleeza Rice breathlessly told us about prior to the Iraq War now aren't we.
And so, we put ourselves in the place of others the world over; those wanting nukes of course...and we think to ourselves. The U.S. wants to stop Iran from developing nukes.
But the U.S. has nukes also. And the U.S. is a scary super power. If she strikes us here a half a world away, we have no defense; because you see we too, are afraid of that frightening "white cloud" Condi talked about

But the U.S. - she can drop a nuke at will, anyplace, anytime. And so others are afraid also. Is it any wonder that they too want nukes? Is it any wonder that they too wonder why the U.S. can have these weapons, these WMD's, and yet they are forbidden.?

The U.S. The only country to drop an atomic bomb. The U.S. with a man of questionable sanity sitting in its white house. The U.S. with a president who insists that he is the decision-maker. The ONLY decision-maker. The U.S.
Not always as trustworthy as it appears.

Bravo! Excellent argument. Maybe countries wouldn't want WMDs if they didn't feel like they could get invaded at any moment by more power nations with WMDs.

Because we were the head of the Alliance during WW2, and the controversy with which a domination would bring to a people would be incredible. Even the Army was astonished at what the Hiroshima bombing had done. Franklin Roosevelt was also a pacifist, believe it or not, and would never have cleared such a thing after the war. And neither would his close successors have. Then, there would be the problem of uprisings. Once a country becomes a territory, the people become citizens of the United States. If the communists or the die-hard nationalists revolt, bombing them would be killing their own citizens, which would cause more revolts. I personally think that a one-nation earth is impossible, and especially would've been in the 1940s and 50s. The United States, in order to maintain control of an immense population, would needed to have split the government into sections, and would probably need to institute some sort Big Brother to sort things out... which is exactly what shouldn't happen. What you are instigating is exactly what 1984 is about.

And the difference is that America is a responsible country and we have a reputation to uphold. Iran on the other hand is an unpredictable country with a psycho as president and openly said that a country should be wiped off the map. At least our intentions are good, Iran's intentions is the cause more trouble and fight the west anywhere they can. We've had nukes for a long time and have we used nukes in a reckless way lately?? Stop making the US seem like some evil country when it's Iran that's the real evil.

The US has had nukes for 60 years and has had the leadership to not use them many times when they could have. They don't have a blind hatred for anyone, not even their sworn enemies communist countries. Iran has stated many times that if they had nukes, the first thing they would do was wipe out Israel, and why? simply because they don't like the fact that land they stole was given back to the people they stole it from. Oh yeah, and in a book that was written 5000 years ago and nobody can prove is true some ******* chose his younger legitimate son over his older illegitimate one. Religious fanatics should not be allowed weapons, we've seen why over and over again, yet MEN learn nothing They have to posture, and brag, and do stupid things to prove they are MEN. Apparently, they all forgot how to play well with others

You've got it. Everyone else with tiny little missiles have missile envy and hate us for that.
I wouldn't worry too much about the US accidentally or arbitrarily running out and invading your country anytime soon. The whole world knew we were about to take action against Saddam. The funny thing is, we thought the UN was serious about following up on the enforcement of it's resolutions. Turned out, it was just the US and a few other countries ready, willing, and able to stand up for what we had already requested of Saddam.
So, before we would ever take action, we will tell you that we are considering it, we will tell you why we are considering it, and even tell you what you should do to stop us from having to follow through. And, we won't come alone. Once again, the UN may abandon the cause, but there will always be a few other countries capable of following through by doing the right thing.

You have some valid points - but in reality, some countries are simply too radical, unstable or outright aggressive - and if they possessed nuclear weapons, I personally wouldn't sleep as well at night.
Given the almost daily terrorist attacks that occur in Israel - I can't begin to imagine how they feel about a nation which has threatened on numerous occasions to annihilate them and push them into the sea - and now that country is on the verge of attaining nuclear weapons!
Iran is the perfect example - Mahmoud is a loose cannon, and he's only the figure head - the real power lies more than ever with the Shiite clergy and their demented leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei - at least until the next upheaval.
They are incredibly stupid if they think the United States will tolerate them having nuclear weapons at their disposal.
The US is indeed a "scary super power" - but only to those who would condone or support terrorism or entertain the idea of flying airplanes into our skyscrapers.
I seriously doubt Canada or Mexico is concerned with our military might - and they share their borders with us.

Please pay attention: These United States does not have a complete Religious Fanatic running the country. Iran has an insane man who wishes to usher in a new era for the Muslim Religion in hopes the resulting chaos will bring in their prophet referred to as "The Mahdi". The Iranian president wants to kill non Muslims and if some Muslims get killed in the process, he's fine with that too. He intends the world to be force converted to Islam.
NOW - look at Kim Jung-il, the dictator of North Korea. The man has his people worshiping him as a god!!! The believes he is a god and he also believes that now he has a nuke - the world is his personal oyster. Do you want to live under this man's rule? A man who has anyone who he even suspects talking smack about him or his government will put them in a prison labor camp that feeds them less than a minimal requirement of rice and water.. and will usually die before they leave.
NOW look at Hugo Chavez.., who is taking his country into a socialist state. He also wants to meld his political, military and economic powers into a Chavez brand of Christianity (offshoot from the Roman Catholic Church) with himself as the head Archbishop. His brand religion will be force taught in every school. He hates the United States and anyone who supports us as does the other named countries.
These men have absolutely NO scruples and have no qualms in killing Americans or anyone else that stands in their way - or even stands out of their way. DO YOU WANT THESE ROGUE COUNTIES HAVING NUCLEAR WEAPONS!??? Do you see anything wrong with these men owning nuclear weapons?
Most reliable countries who have nukes have handled them responsibly and do not threaten their neighbors with nukes. These will! And as a matter of fact - North Korea has threatened to use Nukes on the South Korea, the U.S. and Japan.
We have our hands full with China who is getting more arrogant with their weapons of mass destruction - and we don't need to contend with rogue countries who show no signs of intelligent leadership for the people in their own countries AND who don't care about anyone outside their countries.

Please take note we are the first and utmost in humanity in this world and those third world mongrals know this, and they hate us for that. They are paranoid psychotics. Yes we have plenty of them here as well including and or in our own government? But we invented the Nukes for power plants and weaponry and because of that you can sleep at night without a gun under your pillow in a bunker? eh? We are number one but we have no intention of nuking anyone, and we never did have. Iran is a little squawty country if you blink you miss it on the map and what should they have that power with their third world militant inferior minds that look like they are in rehab? ha ha No more Nukes, we had the Atom bomb yes to stop the war and that should have been enough but no all these jealous people who want to hate us but live like us and be like us secretly envying us everyday want powers to destroy. Just like Ishmael the surrogate son of Abraham? Same case scenario, he tried to kill his baby brother with a knife(Isaac) out of prompted jealousy from his hag of a mother . Women scorned I tell you watch out for those Women? Now look at how they treat those women keeping them like cattle? Wonder why ? Think about it? They are all like women scorned, the haters,or they are like Cain, and kill their brothers like Saddam did, like Hitler? Stalin? Idi Amein? the Pharoahs? etc., It is wrong yes but we have to be the disciplinarian just like you have a referee in the boxing ring? But sometimes the ref has got to step in and kick butt! No more haters, that is the answer. Or kick their butts thats all thats it!

Iraq didn't have nukes and got invaided. North Korea does have nukes and is not getting invaided.
Afghanistan hosted bin Laden but had no nukes, and got invaided. Now Pakistan is hosting bin Laden, but has nukes, and is not getting invaided.
I'm sure this lesson is not lost on Iran.
Insanity reigns.
