Hi LJ

Here are some ideas to use to heal the condition.

Treat Both Ears: The simple, old-fashioned aids are sometimes very fast in giving relief. Always treat both ears, even if only one aches.

1. Onion: Lightly bake a large onion, cut it in half and while warm (not hot enough to irritate the area), bind one half of the onion over each ear. Bandage in place and hold bandage on with a nightcap, white skullcap, etc., and leave on all night.

2.Camomile: Use a fomentation over both ears of three parts of camomile and one part of lobelia. Take two ounces orally (a wineglass full) each two waking hours. Leave the fomentation on the ears all night. (Cover fomentation with plastic or oiled silk, etc.).

3.Mullein: Use three to six drops of mullein oil in both ears several times each day. Insert it upon retiring for the night, and, as before, plug the ears with cotton. Place a fomentation over the ears all night of three parts mullein and one part lobelia.

Testimonials
1.Garlic: When my little girl had an earache I put a piece of fresh garlic in her ear and it was better by morning. The previous alternative was to go to the doctor and pay a lot of money for penicillin.

Best of health to you

I went through horrendous ear infections that passed from one ear to the other for nearly two years...nothing worked, not even intravenous antibiotics, until a friend showed me this simple trick. Worked like a charm, and still does.
1 part white vinegar, 1 part rubbing alcohol. Combine. Pour small amount in ear, so long as eardrum is not perforated. It may sting or burn slightly, depending how bad the infection is. It'll most likely be warm. After a few minutes, empty your ear. Perform once in the morning and once at night. Repeat for a few days if necessary.

It totally depends on what type of infection and where it is. As you have written that this is 2nd time that you have got this infection. You must under stand. Infection can not be treated without Antibiotics. In your case along with antibiotics surgery is must. Don't avoid it or you will become hearing impaired. Your Decease is "Chronic Suppurative otitis media". This is infection is in the middle ear as the name of decease suggests. Consult ENT surgeon at the earliest.

HEALONESELF is right about the garlic. However, you may need more information to convince you.
***Garlic is a natural antibiotic.
***Bacteria can too easily develop resistence to man-made antibiotics because the antibiotics are too simple. So it takes stronger antibiotics each time to take care of the problem. You will build up an immunity to these antibiotics and they will stop working altogether. They may have, since you keep having to use (man-made) antibiotics.
***Natural antibiotics are far superior to man-made antibiotics. Here is why: Penicillin has one chemical constituent and that is Penicillin. Garlic has at least 35 constituents. They "potentiate, enhance, and mitigate each other's effects inside the human body." That's like taking 35 medications in one!
***There are a lot of natural antibiotics: Acacia, Aloe, Echinacea, Eucalyptus, Garlic, Ginger, Goldenseal, Honey, Juniper, many more. These are in a list of the top 15.
***You need to introduce a natural antibiotic into your body to confuse and overcome the bacteria that are causing your infections. We do everything that we can do naturally to treat illnesses. Our daughters (3 and 15 months) have never had ear infections, but if we do, this is what I will do first. I am currently treating a nasal infection by placing a sliced clove of garlic in each nostril for about 15-20 minutes at a time. It is helping tremendously.
***Like HEALONESELF said, you can put a peeled clove of garlic in your ear like you would a hearing aid. If it begins to burn, take it out and wait a while. Put it back when you feel ready. You can do this over and over and it will not hurt you. Garlic is a VERY strong antibiotic and it can cause skin irritation.
***Or you can make a simple garlic oil. Keep this on hand for future use because it is also good for yeast infection (thrush), sore throat, cough with deep congestion, Staph and Strep infections.
Garlic Infused Olive Oil
1 bottle olive oil
3-4 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered
Drop garlic slices into olive oil and close tightly. Let bottle sit in a dark place for 2-3 days. Strain out ALL of the garlic pieces and store the bottle at room temperature. You can refrigerate it, but it will solidify. Just set it on the counter and it will begin to return to its liquid state.
OR-To make it quicker. You can bake the garlic in oil in the oven and it will only take an hour. It will probably smell better, too.
1 ½ cup garlic cloves
2 ½ cups extra virgin olive oil
Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Add whole, peeled garlic cloves to casserole dish and immerse in olive oil. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until garlic is golden in color and oil is bubbling. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Gently scoop out the roasted garlic cloves. Strain oil into a separate container.
(You can eat the garlic cloves-spread them on toast.)
***EAR INFECTION:Warm some oil to a comfortable temperature (at least room temperature) and put a couple of drops into an infected ear. Also massage some oil into the skin around the ear and on the neck. This allows the oil to absorb into the lymph nodes. If you use cold oil it will cause more pain. Do this as often as desired.
***EAR ACHE: Same as above OR you can peel a clove of garlic and stick it into the opening of the ear-just like you would a hearing aid. (This is more feasible for adults than children.) The pain should deminish within the hour (or soon thereafter). (personal testimony of a friend who tried this)

I would use ginger capsules every day as a preventative. and use anti-biotics to clear up the surrent bout of ear infection.

I had ear infection all of the time while living in Kentucky and Tennessee. I read the ginger helped fight infection and inflamation; so I bought ginger capsules and took them as a preventative.

After the anti-biotics cleared up that infection; I went 10 years and never had ear infection again. Of course I took ginger every day until I moved here to Washington. I no longer taje ginger capsules; but I do eat two or three peices of ctystalized ginger daily.

Echinacea and Pau D'Arco are both herbal antibiotics that would work for you.

Also, powdered garlic mixed in olive oil can be droppered into an ear for an earache--just sleep with that ear up.

You can buy herbs in bulk for future needs at 'herbalcom.com'.

Best of luck.

crazy as this sounds, the pain usually subsides when applying a cooking onion that has been freshly cut. the stronger the onion the better, apply to the ear with a light cotton cloth or kleenex for 15 minutes. also massage below the ears with long strokes to base of neck it allows the fluid build up to drain releasing the pressure on the ear drum. or find a good homeopathic doctor
