She should stop taking anything until she goes to the dr. they will tell her what is safe to take. If I was her i'd stop taking it immediately.

Yes, it is okay, at least for me in the 3rd trimester. My ob just prescribed this for me yesterday for restless leg syndrome. I am 8 months pregnant, and have not been sleeping AT ALL. This drug is in Pregnancy Category B, which means it has not been known to harm an unborn child. Do not take it at the very end when labor is near though, it may cause sedation in the baby.
I would not take it if not this necessary, but I was extremely exhausted and concerned about my health, and about being worn out when I go into labor in the near future. I really needed the rest!
I would try to avoid it that early in pregnancy however, the first trimester is very important developmentally and it's not worth ANY risk. She needs to see her ob.

that's superb to call the record and get on an antibiotic in the time of being pregnant. you do no longer prefer to take any opportunities on an identical time as you're pregnant. A UTI can develop right into a kidney an infection that's extremely intense for you and toddler. i think your discomfort, I had recurrent UTI's in the time of my entire being pregnant and became actually on antibiotics from 5 months til 2 months after giving beginning.

Ambien is a class B pregnancy drug which means:
Controlled studies done on animals in reproduction do not indicate risk to the fetus.

She needs to ask her doctor because drugs are given different numeric value levels during pregnancy. That may be unsafe. However, I was told to take a sleeping aid that is over the counter during my pregnancy to help with morning sickness. Call the doctor.

your friend should ask her gynecologist What affect Ambien could have on the Baby. Medical drugs can cause problems for the babies in development and after their birth.

She needs to ask her doctor before she takes any kind of medication! She is taking a chance by continuting to take the medication, unless her doctor has already told her it is fine.

why is she taking it? any drug, whether it is prescription or othewise has an effect on a fetus.
Her doctor should be the one telling her what to (or not) to take.
