A video card is a card that plugs into your computer. Then you plug your monitor into that card and you can see stuff.
Frequently when a computer freezes, it is due to overheating. Try to increase the ventilation around your computer. For example move it if it's inside a cabinet or on plush carpet that is blocking any ventilation.
It could also be a "driver" issue. Drivers are the software in your computer that tell you computer how to use hardware (like your video card).

The video card is a part of the computer (a peripheral), that converts the language of the program, into graphics on the monitor. It is VERY important. I rarely hear of video cards failing - the driver file for it may be corrupt or damaged. Depending on the make of the card, you will need to go their website (probably on a different computer apparently), and download the most current driver for your card. If you burn it to a disc, the file can be started just by clicking on the icon on the disc, and the installation program will install the new drivers.

hi
Ok , its not necessary the video card it self unless is got something to do with a specific program you trying to run or a game. Now for a pc to FREEZE first you i need to know wish part is freezing the OS or the hardware , for that try this , when the pc froze again hit the NUM LOCK key or the CAPS LOCK , if the light comes on and off then its software related for freezing now if the lights does not comes off and on , then its a hardware failure , wish could be either the mem or the sysboard
