Scalding hot baths are perfectly safe because you are not entirely immersed (generally) and they do not stay that hot (unlike hottubs)

You are just supposed to keep your body temperature under 101 during the first 6 weeks of pregnancy to prevent birth defects. After that you just need to be worried about dehydration. If you are really worried take a normal thermometer into the bath and take your temperature.

I was always told regular baths were okay. Towards the end of my pregnancy I only showered to be safe. I think as long as you are comfortable in the water you are okay!

You should not go in a hot tub or sauna, but your bath can be any temp you like. Most hot water heaters are set to 120 degrees to avoid scalding, but you bath would not be that hot by the time you filled it and could comfortably get in.

They say as long as its under 100 degrees, which is around your body temperature. You don't want to overheat yourself. Check out this site! I love baths!!

You test the bathwater for a baby by dipping your elbow into it, if it feels hot then it's too hot, right? Same thing with pregnant moms, just not too hot and not after you lose your mucus plug. I took plenty of lukewarm baths and loved every one of them - it was the only time my pelvis wasn't killing me!

When I was preg. my Dr. said as long as I can just sit right in the tub. The water should not be so hot that you have to "ease" in ie: only put your feet in first, etc.
