I don't believe in spanking at all. Why do you need to beat your child to prove you are in charge?

I don't think people should hit each other.

I think it's really bad for parents to hit their kids (you're teaching them what, exactly -- that when you're bigger you hit people to try to get them to do what you want? And this is a good thing lesson, WHY?)

On the other hand, I doubt that the occasional small rap on the buns does any major harm, assuming the parents are otherwise good parents -- caring, well-meaning, reasonably sane (if somewhat misguided or sometimes a bit out of control -- of themselves).

I don't think law is the way to deal with the problem of people hitting little kids. Eventually, we'll be civilized enough that everyone will realize this is wrong.

But it probably won't pass anyway.

I also think all the wing-nuts will be having a field day with this -- yet another sign of the End Of Times, etc., etc. But the wing-nuts say that about everything.

I wish we did a better job of dealing with serious child battering -- rescuing and helping the victims heal.

that is 'corporal'. the best thank you to spell, Commie. i'm 13. 'lower back interior the day...' have not you heard of the Columbine shootings? If we had corporal punishment, it worse be worse. The oppressed continually spring up. look at Syria! And are you justifying that each individual who hasn't been spanked will grow to be a crazed shooter? Spanking has no longer something to do with it. that is extra approximately psychological ailment or bullying. SO close UP
