my company has been bought out on dec.1, 2006 and the new owners said that they will not honor vacation time that was previously granted by the former owners. I have been there 12 years and was scheduled to take my last vacation on dec. 5, 2006.i was told that the new owners would not pay for it, is this illegal?

I would have to agree with the first answer. Your agreement or contract was with the previous owner. The current owner never had an agreement or contract to honor vacation time. I'd say you are probably out of luck on this one.

Probably not, as it would depend solely on the terms of the transfer of ownership agreement, but you could, and perhaps should, consult an attorney dealing with workers' rights.

No. You are a new employee and congratulation on your new job. You might never see another vacation again if they like.
