She's spent little time there since she was 8 years old. Everything she has accomplished is due to her experience in the United States, yet she remains a Russian citizen. Do you think that's right?

No one should have to give up their heritage and nationality. The only true citizens of any country are it's indigenous people, so clearly many have made their names and lives on the home soils of another. Irrespective of where she chose, her commitment to practice and succeed are what has gotten her to where she is.

All of the Tennis Players practice and are working with agents in america. Most train in Branton at Bolleteri (international Flights go in aand out) and Athletes Performance(Carson,California) It is no longer cold war but a millionaaiares war. There are no boundaries in Tennis, Golf, Footbaall, Baskerbaall aand now Soccer. Goodwill Russian make USA aa lot of money.

she was born in Russia and lived there for 8 years as you said.. How about an American born in US but moves to Europe for soccer.. Should the American be considered European?

good point because when navratilova defected to the us, she went on to play for the us team in the olympics. mary pierce is from louisiana, but she plays for france, and martina hingis was born czech, but she's now swiss.

I think its right. She shouldn't have to give away her culture or heritage because her training occured in the US.

Yes it is, what she has achieved has a little to do with where she now lives and far more to do with her natural talent.
