In my thoughts and dreams question, people are saying me. People tell me I look pretty when I KNOW I look terrible. Why do they lie to me like this?
This was not an attempt at showing off how many compliments I get like the 12 year old girls around here do. I'm serious♥

Get over yourself. Your problem is you suffer from an inflated sense of self-importance not that people are lying to you. Take compliments where you can get them. Sometimes, people are just being polite and there's nothing wrong with that but, obviously, you have an issue with appearances so they're probably trying to assuage your ego.

Its a question of politeness. Seriously, if you thought someone looked ugly, would you go tell them that? Also, you may lack self-confidence, as many adolescents do, and think you look worse than how you actually do.

not only might you be degrading yourself and having a low self-esteem but you assume that us males would lie to you. Remember, misinterpretations can be dangerous, dont straight away assume it's a lie, you're beautiful
