No, you do not have a mental problem. When I was growing up, I too, had black kids that made fun of me because I studied hard in school, never ditched, didn't go to parties, didn't curse. I was a very shy person and talked too proper, but I never once felt that I wanted to be white. I love my people even if some of them think little of me. You cannot go through your life hating your self. There are black people who are respectable...you just have to be very choosy. Look for people who bring out the best in you. Look for people who support your dreams. There are good people in ALL nationalities. Saying that you hate to be black is like saying that you hate your own parents or/and siblings too.

I think hating yourself is a big issue. Why does being black mean you must be uneducated? What a sucky way to think. Also, alot of teens are obnoxious and loud, it's more of a teen thing than a black thing. You should be proud of who you are and where you come from, but also be your own person and strive to better yourself and set goals in your life. Be open and friendly, but stick to the values your mom taught you.

You truly have issues with your self esteem, you have to realize that NOT all black people act ignorant and have no manners or respect for others, there are just as many white, asian and every other race that do the same things. It is a individual issue not a racial one. If you respect others, do the right things and have faith in yourself, you are all that and its something to be proud of. Recognize people are jealous and fault finding, as long as you're NOT stooping to their level of ignorance they will have negative things to say and as long as they are doing that you are doing something right. Its not a matter of race, its individual, don't be embarrassed by what others do, just do what you do it shows that the entire race doesn't suffer from ignorance. Embrace who you are, because you can't change that.
Do your part to uplift your people and yourself.

I'm embarrassed of some of our black people too, and just because you're different from the ones who are loud, obnoxious and ignorant, doesn't make you wrong. You set a better example than they do. Be happy with the way you are, your mom raised a good guy!

Well everyone has their insecurities whether they are white or black asian or hispanic...everyone...even if they deny it.Tha just about proves you do not have a mental problem. For example,I hate my nose...thats my insecurity but my advice to you is to just ignore those people because they also have their own insecurities.Even if its only one person, everyone has a friend.I'm very shy and during my elementary and junior high years,I was extremely anti-social but in high school...I always secretly wanted to pick theater as one of my elective.So..I picked theather and met people that enjoyed the same things I love.So...just talk to people.Thats how you make friends. You have to know who is your friend and who you stay away from.

You feel responsible for others? I guess your mother failed to teach you a few things. She sounds like a failed parent. She has convinced you to hate yourself. That is the truth! If you were confident as an individual, well adjusted and intelligent, you wouldn't want to be some sort of stupid martyr who hates himself.

Do you think Barack Obama feels the way you do? What about Bill Cosby? You are not alone in the way you feel. I'm constantly ashamed for people who don't have the sense to be ashamed of themselves. Nah, I'm just kidding about that. I really don't care if people want to act like retards. Just be who you are and quit worrying about the opinions of people you don't even want to know.

I don't think you're responsible for anyone else's behaviour, no matter what color you are.
If you behave properly, no matter where you are, people will judge you well. You've made the choice to behave.
I'm not black, but I'm certainly not going to take on the misbehaviors of other people and feel embarrassed for their behaviour.

Well if it affects you that much, you can always do what Michael Jackson does and go white. But you shouldn't be bothered by what color skin you are, you probably are just mixed in with an incompatible group of friends
