Completely normal. The full moon is so bright, it fools your body into thinking it is earlier than it is. Not only does it do it to humans, but also to animals.

Scientists say the whole nonsense about people going crazy and more babies being born during the full moon is just nonsense, but they haven't worked in a hospital during the full moon or seen how wild animals behave.

I've seen wild rabbits dancing in the middle of a road, jumping up and trying to catch the full moon. Squashed a few, too.

I've seen deer change their grazing patterns. During the full moon they point their heads toward the road as they graze and are 75% more likely to jump into the road. On normal nights, they graze with their heads pointed away from the road and are more likely to jump the other way.

During the full moon you are far more likely to see bobcats, lynxes, coyotes, red fox, and wolves. This is due in part to the increased visibility, but owes something to increased activity.

In cities humans are also out late. Many, like you, find it hard to sleep when the moon is up and shining in their windows.

Oh, and the fish DO bite better during the full moon.

I do too and I think it is the brightness that I cant get used to.

I also believe that the full moon has a certain affect on all of us at some point in our lives. I worked at a nursing home and all the residents or a lot of them at least were always wired up and nervous on nights of full moon. Normally they would be sleeping or not really paying any attention of their surroundings.

My mother and my stepson have trouble sleeping during a full moon. I like it when the full moon comes about, because the coyotes make cool noise.

It's perfectly normal. Most people I know do. It isn't the brightness of the moon, as some of the folks answered before, as it happens even on cloudy nights, doesn't it? It has to do with the natural cycle of the earth to which our bodies are perfectly in tune. Relax and sleep when your body tells you to. That means going to bed earlier and missing some tv or games or whatever on nights when you get the 'signal' that your body craves sleep. You are just in tune with nature, what could be more normal than that?

its normal for those of us sensitive to variations in the vibration levels between the earth and moon during phases like the full moon, new moon, and notably during blue (second full moon in one month) moon. i have also noticed that the full moon seems to last a wee bit longer, sometimes up to 3 full nites, every now and then for the last few years. many friends of mine have noticed this as well, and we all seem to act a little more rashly and thoughtlessly than usual during these extended periods. but yes, it is fairly normal to be unable to sleep during fulls moons.

wow! someone that has the same problem as me.i take melatonin (its a all-natural sleep aid that doesnt "hook" you) for me its partly cause of the extra light and somthing else, but the theory is put forth that the moon affects the water in our bodys (the moon causes tide, why cant it affect the water in our bodies) the upset of the water to hormone balance in our brains causes differnt feelings for different people. ultimatly resulting in sleep loss

by the way i feel restless on a full moon, there have been nights that i paced my house untill i fell asleep walking.

Fire at the full moon with a 30-06 rifle. I understand that shooting the moon is a popular past time.
