Dragon Drive was a decent anime, not great. Characters were pretty par for the course - the slacker loser hero who eventually gets motivated, the love interest the hero is oblivious to, the mysterious stranger, the comic relief guy obsessed with the love interest, etc.
The dragons were computer animated, and for the most part, they looked pretty cool. Story line was the same that we've seen before - slacker hero has to defeat bad guys to save the world. It's not bad, it's just been done before, and probably better. If I remember correctly, it was appropriate for younger viewers, and my wife liked it, so if you're looking for something that you can watch with the family, it's not a bad choice.
