You are going to have such a wonderful time. Fantasy Land in the Magic Kingdom is the favorite of most small children. My daughter has always liked Figment at Epcot. The Journety through the imagination. Your 4 year old will probably also like The Muppets, Playhouse Disney, and Arial at MGM. Regardless of what you do while you are there. You will have the most fun watching the look on your childs face. It will be priceless!
1.Make your priority seating reservations as soon as possible. Most of the restaurants accept them 180 days from the first day of your vacation. You are aloud to start calling at 7:00 am. Start dialing at 6:58 am and keep hitting redial until you are through. You might even want to call ahead of time and write down the number sequence that you have to punch in. You can get through to a real person faster that way. For instance Cinderella’s Castle usually books up by 7:05am. Call (407) WDW-DINE and ask them the exact date that you can call.
2.I always buy the park hopper pass, because I try never to stay at the Magic Kingdom after 11:30am. I get there when they open. The opening celebration is really neat. They sometimes open early for Disney Hotel Guests. Check on line for the extra magic hours. You can find them at www.Disney.com. I go directly to the rides that my kids want to ride. We may pick up a Fast Pass on the way. If you have more adults then kids then you can spread out your fast passes. (pick up more than 1 ride at a time, One adult with each child). For instance my daughter loves the Honey Pots so we go directly there sometimes at 7:00 am. We never have a line. Sometimes they even let us ride 2 or three times without getting out of our car.
3.Mickey’s Toon Town Fair usually opens later then the park. You will have Minnie’s House and Mickey’s House practically to yourself. And no line to see Mickey.
4.Always plan your afternoon reservations at one of the other parks. Unless you have lunch at the Castle (try to make it early)
5.The Hoop – De – Doo and the Luau (at the Polynesian) are great evening shows. Your ticket covers an all you can eat meal at your table (not a buffet) and all you can drink Beer, Wine and soft drinks. I believe that you can call up to 2 years in advance. Call ASAP for the best table. My One year old had a blast this Christmas.

Go to www.allearsnet.com. It is a fantastic web-site. You can find out almost everything that you need to know about the rides and other opportunites.

Have Fun!!!!

Look into the character Meals...
the Contemporary Resort has a great breakfast and Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald walk through the restuarant and take pictures with every table....
Inside Magic Kingdom the Crystal Palace has a lunch or Dinner with Pooh, Eeyore,Piglet, and Tigger.
Inside the castle in Magic Kingdom and at Norway in EPCOT is Princess Breakfast or Lunch with assorted princesses.
Also in "The Land" in Epcot is a Lunch/Dinner with Mickey, Minnie,Chip, and Dale

Try and Make reservations right away!!! they fill up fast!

Magic Kingdom- Most of Fantaasyland will be good plus there is a Mickey Mouse Village where you can see characters.

MGM- If your little one watches Disney Channel- Playhouse Disney show will be a big hit.

Animal Kingdom- Dinosaur Area is good for boys that love it and the It's great to be a bug show

I agree with some of those longer posts, Disney is pretty great. I live in Orlando and frequent Disney weekly as a college student looking for a cheap way to have fun. I would recommend planning on bringing food and drinks with you to help keep the costs down. I have walked in that park with a backpack filled with 2liter sodas, water, mcdonalds, subway, you name it. In my opinion the only place worth buying meals from would be epcot, some of the countries have amazing food(mexico, fish and chip stand, china to list a few). The popcorn is good everywhere, but stick to epcot for dinners (or downtown Disney, planet Hollywood). My favorite ride might actually be the mission space ride at epcot, but it's hard to pick. I find with Disney it's always great, just be prepared for pop up rainstorms that are all to frequent in Feb-March. If it does rain try to wait it out as it generally clears out the park a good bit. There's plenty to do at Disney and I'd also recommend Disney Quest at Downtown Disney, it's a multi-floor building with interactive video games and build your own ride simulators (really fun). Hope you have a great trip!

I lived in florida for many years and we have been to disney several times with the kids. disney world has many things for a 4 year old throughout the park. Mickey mouse and goofy characters walk among the crowded streets. there are kiddy rides also. I woulndt recommend epcot center. That place is geard for older children. shows how things work and its like more of a learning facility. But the kids all loved disney and we had lots of fun. I also recommend a stroller and try to stay for the fireworks in the evening they are awesome. good luck and I hope you have a great time.

animal kingdom for the safari ride and the shows as well as the parade.

MGM for fantasmic and power rangers, and teenage mutant ninja turtles and kiddie show like bear and the big blue house.

EPCOT is more for the adults than kids he'll get bored there.. but wait they just added nemo and his friends in the huge aquarium that they have there.. maybe he wont be so bored after all.

Magic Kingdom for the castle, lilo and stitch, pirates of the caribbean, all the rides what fun.. spend time here coz its the biggest park.
