I agree with d0og. Its Kimi's year this year. With Ferrari's experience and MS as his mentor, he has a very good chance to win the title. His talent is no question. With a car that was unreliable and definitely underpowered in the past, Kimi was able to still win races and get second place in 2005 and did not give up despite all disappointments in 2006.

Lets see how Alonso fares with Mclaren under Ron Dennis. THe Renault was reliable and fast yet a small mistake made ALonso complain about his car, engine and team-mate... The true test of a champion is when he is under pressure. Hope he is able to cope well under pressure because he sure was given a smooth ride for the past 2 years. Don't get me wrong I am also an Alonso fan but I respect Kimi's talent more.

Kimi to win? I don't know....
I think Ferrari's advantage over other teams because of the tyres is a little overrated. The tyres used this year will be very different from those used last year. They have had some bad weather at their testing venues recently, and they are somewhat behind with their programme. Kimi's times (albeit with the 2006 248F1) were almost one second slower than Massa's (in F2007).
McLaren are looking good so far in the testing. I don't think there has been any engine blow ups or mechanical problems. Adrian Newey (ex McLaren tech director) thinks 2007 will be a good year for the Woking team....if he says so, there must be some truth in it. I'm not a fan of Alonso, but I think he can drive a bit.
Fisi and Heikki...I'm sure the car is good. Possibly the best on the grid. But I think they will be too distracted by their crazy yellow orange livery! It's epileptogenic!!!
Honda are making some seriously positive noises about their new car. Maybe it's their year.
The answer to your question? I haven't the faintest idea just yet. At the end of the season, it will most probably be won by one of the "usual suspects", but the story will surely be a little more complicated than that.

Most likely Kimi Raikonnen. I don't see Mclaren rebounding from a winless season to winning the constructer's title, or providing Alonso with a car to win the Driver's championship. All i have to say about Alonso is that he is quite an idiot, he did not realize what a good situation he had with Renault and i believe they were more of a factor for his winning back to back titles than his driver skill, which by the way will cause him problems in the future just as it did last year in China. Maybe one more championship down the road for the Spaniard but no more.

My guess is that nobody will have the slightest idea who will win the WDC until the last lap of the last race. Ferrari and Renault will start strongly, but I'm not sure if the people at Maranello can keep their momentum. McLaren will play catch-up with some success, Honda and BMW might meddle around in this battle, but in the end only 4 drivers have chances (even though 2 are rookies): Alonso, Hamilton, Kovalainen and Massa. Raikkonen will continue his car-breaking traditions (nobody will be able to build him a fully reliable car), and Fisichella will soon be forced to play number 2 to Kovalainen. Piquet Jr. will get in the game in 2008.

Kimi is a great driver, and was great competition for Schumacher, until Mclaren made a crap of car, now Kimi has the ferrari, and Alonso has the mclaren, if things go like they were Kimi should win. But remember, mclaren is a big team and may come back

Just want to inform u,that Alonso signed with maclaren in dec`2005,for season 2007 which at that time 2006 was suppose to be renaults last year in f1.
Renaults f1 racing only signed a few months ago,
that they will continue for another +- 4 years in f1 racing.
OH YES!
I think that Alonso is going to win his 3rd championship in 2007.

Well Michael Shumacher if he didnt retire (sorry im just a Shumachcher fan) but his replacement Kimi seems in real good form and i doubt anyone else is better except for Alonso but hes going to McLaren and thats a loser team as shown in 2005 althought they are making improvements in their reliability. However Ferrari have red cars and everyone knows red cars are faster.

In my opinion, Kimi Raikkonen is likely to win the championship this year. He's a great driver, and even though there have been some changes at Ferrari's, it will remain a very good team with a lot of experience.
I think he deserves it. Indeed, he has been very unlucky for the last few years.

The best driver, Kimi Raikkonnen, on the best team with the best car, Ferrari. If you doubt Kimi's ability, let me refer you to Suzuka 2005 when he came from PIT LANE with record lap times to win the race. If the car can handle his driving, he'll take it all.

Alonso is an egotistical bonehead, and it's no surprise that he has been having car problems with McLaren. Kimi would have been right up front last season if his car didn't break all the time!

Kimi. The Iceman took a step closer to winning his first championship with his move to Ferrari.

As long as Ferrari remains reliable, it's a matter of Kimi losing the championship.
