I don't have a 125 gallon tank, mine is only a 20, so I never had a common pleco to begin with. I have a rubbernose pleco cause they don't grow big. A bushynose pleco would be better, cause they are smaller, but I love my rubbernose.

I second the Ancistrus sp. (Bristlenose pleco.) I have one in my 20 gallon tank, and he's the best algae eater ever :) They only grow to about 4 or 5 inches long. I believe a rubbernose is too large for a 20 gallon tank...

How big is your tank and what other fish are in it? Without this information any answer could be a bad answer. I'd say your best bet is a mag float algae cleaner.

i have ancistris plecos. they are smaller than hypostomus and better algae eaters. they only costa between 3-20us and dont get more then 8". they also have cute bushy faces and you can tell the difference in males and females on site.
