Sure. Why not? In the long term - years, decades - compatibility has very little to do with body parts, and much more to do with plain old commitment.

My mother is a lesbian. She and her life-partner were together over 30 years before her life-partner passed away at 65 years old.
Sounds like "together for life" to me.

Any couple - regardless of gender - who love, value and respect each other can stay together as long as they wish. If you cherish someone, it's worth the ups-and-downs to stay together.

Why in the world not? It would be interesting to compare stats on straight couples divorcing and gay couples separating after years of co-habiting.

They can stay together for life-but with homosexuality(gay men and women both) they can have the same partner yet still sleep with many other partners at the same time. Its a known fact that 90% of gays are the ultimate swingers. They can not be loyal to just one partner. Its part of the gay lifestyle that they brag about. Sure, there is the exception to the rule, you will find some gays who are loyal to their partner, but the vast majority are not.
